Life Is But a Dream

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Wayne Dyer

The only reason you see and experience the world the way you do is because of your mind’s conditioning. When you begin to de-condition, unburden, and work on yourself, the way the world looks and feels will also naturally change.

Life Is But A Dream: Just try this little experiment, for several months try to see the world as a dream. Drill it deeply in yourself that this material world is not really how it appears to be. Just like how in your dreams when you touch a wall it feels solid, but you know it’s not because it’s just a dream, bring that same attitude into your material life.

At first, it will just feel like you are pretending, keep doing it, use your imagination, and really feel that this world is just like a constantly changing dream. If you continue, with time you will prove to yourself how powerful your mind is and how it can be conditioned to a new perspective. You will begin to feel how this world really isn’t as rigid and mechanical as you once experienced it. Instead of seeing things as matter you will see and feel them as consciousness, which is what they really are. If this sounds interesting to you, just try it, play with it, and let it become your own experience. This is simply an idea for you to create contrast in your life, to give a glimpse of other possibilities.

  1. I like this practice Ivan.

John Von Neumann, a mathametician who more than one person said may have been the most intelligent person who ever lived, said that life was imagined. Einstein inferred the same thing. I agree. No matter how things appear to be it’s all one energy. Our thoughts mold this “neutral” energy into that which we turn our attention to.

Thanks for sharing. Going forward I will consistently remind myself that I am in fact, imagining things.

  2. Hi Ivan,
I came over to visit your blog from the A List Blogger’s Club.

What a wonderful post you wrote! I couldn’t agree more – we must be of like mind.

I posted an article titled: What’s Love Have to Do With Reality? on April 19th too, dealing with the very same topic you so eloquently tackled here. What are the chances?

I’m subscribing to your blog and will look forward to more thought provoking articles.
    Most Sincerely,

  3. Last night, I’ve been pondering the very question “Why is life hard?” And I’ve come across someone who asked the same question I did, his was “If life is what we make it, why is life hard?” So it got me thinking along the lines of your article–which is great btw, uplifting and inspirational. Mind over matter–yep very empowering.
“Change comes from within.” So, if we change the way we see the world; if we see our mistakes as opportunities for growth; see rejections as signs of better things of better things to come, etc…maybe life is not so hard after all. Storms will come and storms will go. Take it as a chance to learn something new, or strengthen yourself because life is hard.
Allow me to share this inspirational story I found http://budurl.com/7jdf
about a man who was not expected to live. But he did because he didn’t give up. So, neither should we.

  4. I liked your idea and suggestion that “life is but a dream”. I plan to practice this for awhile and see what happens. I am a firm believer in a common phrase, most recently associated with the movie Kung Fu Panda, ” there are no accidents”. It was not an accident that I stumbled on to your blog site. My energy has been increased and along with my joy to be “nobody”. Thanks for your efforts in this universe. You made my day. I look forward to more opportunities to see me and to see you.

  5. ahhh very inspiring thanks, i especially lov the quote “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
